Guayabo Archaeological Park is also nearby- a little more than one hour away from the hotel. The main archaeological site in Costa Rica and just recently named as “WORLD PATRIMONY OF ENGINEERING” American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Guayabo has fascinating pre-Columbian artefacts from the area, which was inhabited from 1000 BC to 1400 AD, then abandoned. Excavation began more than thirty years ago and is still continuing now days.
