Explornatura Adventure Tourism

In 1999, a couple of adventure sport enthusiasts realized their dream as they combined their years of work and experience to create Explornatura. We based our company out of the Turrialba Valley, about an hour a half east of San Jose, in the heart of adventure country. Here we were able to develop signature tours that brought adventure to the every day person.

In this spirit we still operate today, bringing and teaching safe and responsible adventure tourism to our community and our visitors. After several years of focusing on our operations here in the Turrialba Valley, we found the opportunity to expand and opened offices in the South Pacific and near the famous Arenal Volcano in the North Central Plains.

Recognizing that our true office is the outdoors has led us to adopt practices through which we strive to maintain and better the natural environment. In addition to the tours and services that we offer as an adventure travel agency, we are also committed to the local communities in which we operate. With these sustainable practices we are able to operate successfully while ensuring that there are plentiful resources for future generations.

With that said, our primary goal has always been to provide a fun and exciting way to explore this beautiful country. It was in this spirit that we started Explornatura and it is in this spirit that we still operate to this day.
